Portland was a really hard place to leave. I visited recently for a 7 day adventure, there are so many things to love plus its filled with incredible people just like this human being. I met Jamael at Modo Yoga PDX after signing up to one of his heated flow classes. Plants are one of the many ways to my heart, but what makes me go back to a yoga studio again is honest connections.
I arrived pretty early to class and was amazed by the plants covering the light filled studio from floor to ceiling. Chilling out on this epic blue couch while waiting for class to start I noticed he seemed to know each person by name that arrived, and had this genuine warm energy that exuded from him. I looked down at my phone to scroll through instagram or something and suddenly he was upside down pressing into a handstand. Who the heck is this guy, seriously.
“I bet you can’t do that again on top of the front desk” somehow my confident extroverted side had come out of nowhere.
Fast forward to the next day and we found ourselves in Forrest Park doing a photoshoot where the fall colours were leaving me speechless.
If you find yourself in Portland get to one of his classes, find out where he’s currently teaching on his instagram: @jamwhoflows (you can also see a video of that handstand on the front desk)
